'whispers' project in which we were given work from a colleague and asked to respond, the following are my outcomes in response to the provided image below:
Collaboration Evaluation
I enjoyed experimenting digitally for this collaboration with Ross. I wanted to use the defined fashion drawing he created and return that intot a fashion print. I liked the application of his image over the runway model and the layers of colour that I had altered. I think this collaboration was valuable for me to begin to visualize and explore the application of colour and pattern onto fashion pieces and as a print design.
Day 3- Isolating marks + re- working images digitally
Stitch onto insulated plastic, added marker pen, sporadic lines , scratching I think there's a sense of emotion and darkness within the lines
Editing images on photoshop to abstract and obscure
I like the depth and texture these have when layered, reminiscent of wax resist and black ink paintings
I think some of the marks are reminiscent of graffiti taggings
Conclusion
I enjoyed this project and the process of starting with a physical artform and then re-imagining the properties of the object within photoshop. I focused on creating depth and abstract images, carrying the dark shapes through the work and layering the looped lines. The combination of digital and physical work is an interesting idea to me as it allows for a way of working quickly where I can explore alternate possibilities in colour and layering.
